This was taken as St. Peter’s square – parents hovering nearby and taking their own photographs and making their own readings and re-readings from the story books. The entire bookend to the Italy trip that allowed me to spend time with my parents was a unique, and awesome, and amazing experience. Highlight (well, one of – there is no single BEST moment) was finishing the 3rd (ahem) bottle (ahem) of wine (ahhh, Montepulciano!) with dad on the empty square of a small town and talking about life, universe, everything.

The shadows of Colliseum (waiting before a tour). Posed on one of the old rocks. Worry not! I didn’t cause any more damage than 1500 years of taking it apart did š Otherwise this particular ex-pillar was used as seating. It blows my mind that some things are so eternal. I hope the idea of a specific design could last as long as a physical object.

Eames in the basement of Vatican. (Thanks to Dad, for watching my back while I was setting and shooting this. It’s much easier to crawl around the floor of anywhere when you have someone holding the equipment and jackets and making sure no one steps on you!)

The tides inĀ Mumbles, Swansea, Wales are massive. Kilometers of exposed and covered rocks and sand. (or is it miles?)
Massive they may be, but they come in very rapidly. By the end of setting up this photograph the waves were threatening to carry my small chair away.

30 rock – top roof – grand central park view. new york classic.

Usually I keep the miniatures in color – not sure why, as I do love a nice richly texture black and white. The color shot in this highway underpass (possibly to follow one day) didn’t really connect the waves of the underpass with the waves of the chair. I walked here nearly every day while in Taipei and I took this photograph on the first day – and every following day I wanted to re-take it. (which is a hard feeling to explain – there is a nice satisfying feeling when you get a good photograph, and its not possible to replicate it except by taking a DIFFERENT good photograph, but the old scenes do always remind you of that feeling).

Waterfalls before a temple in Taipei, Eames rocker, 2011.
(If you see a theme with Eames rockers in Taipei and Hong Kong – I could only carry a limited number of chairs with me, so the 2 rockers, and 2 elephants were the IT items.)

Temple in Taipei, Taiwan. (That was a sublime trip and a memory of a life time.) 2011.
